One Mile - 25 of 314

Lunch time

Here is my 25th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Taken just a few meters away from my last photo (footpath off of Tutton Hill). The horse didnt seem too bothered that I was crouching down taking a photo, and even came closer. I took a few photos, but liked this one of its mouth open.

Tutton Hill Footpath

Here is my 24th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Time for a landscape. I took this photo at the weekend whist on walk to Ditteridge. The road you can see in the photo is Tutton Hill and I was on the footpath that goes down to the bottom of the valley (Lidbrooks Bottom), and then continues to St Christopher's Church at Ditteridge. I took the shot from low down in the grass and like that the church tower was not obsured by trees so stood out.

Bee

Here is my 23rd of 314 photos for the one mile project.

The second macro shot in two days. I can't tell you what type of flower the bee is on, but it was growing in the primary school garden.
I tried to keep good depth of field and a fairly fast shutter speed so the bee was sharp.

Cow Parsley

Here is my 22nd of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I took this photo on on Sunday, where the footpath at Ogbourne meets Tutton Hill. using a 150mm macro lens, I could stil achieve a relatively good depth of field, but with a nice, smooth, blurred background.

Rush hour

Here is my 20th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I took this photo on Wednesday morning whilst walking to work. Not one car past me as I walked down the hill, just a horse and a couple of cyclists. I tried to frame this so the horse and the cyclist are both in the shot.

Jean

Here is my 19th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Taken on Saturday at the May Fair just as I was walking back home. I saw Jean Tiley earlier and wanted to get a photo, but thought I had missed my chance. Then when she wizzed past me I spotted her reflection in her mirror and thought it made a good photo. I focussed on the mirror to ensure her face was in sharp focus.

Taken on Saturday at the May Fair. This car was part of the Classic Car club parade and is owned by Jim Hibell. I decided to make use of the flip screen on the Sony and take this from a very low angle.

St Bernard

Here is my 16th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Taken on Saturday at the May Fair. So many people were stopping to talk to the owner and look at his lovely dog. When I took this photo the St Bernard was just eyeing up a hot dog that the owner was sharing with him.

If anyone happens to know the owner please tag them, I never got their name.

May Fair Ice Cream

Here is my 15th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Taken yesterday at the May Fair. Every time I walked past there were different children sat on the wall, but these two really stood out. I took a few shots, but liked the one where they were both eating ice cream at the same time.

Note - There can't have been many children who grew up in Colerne, that haven't sat on that wall.

May Fair chat

Here is my 14th of 314 photos for the one mile project. Just another 300 to go.

This is my first "people" photo for the project. They seemed engrossed in their conversation, and I loved the symmetry. The gentleman on the right is Bill Dyer, I'm unsure who the other gentleman is.

Here is my 13th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I took this photo last week in Mum and Dads garden. Its a Osteospermum.
I took the photo from over head, looking straight down, which a shallow depth of field so the other buds just popped through

Dandelion.

Here is my 12th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I took this photo today at the west end of Bath road as you leave the village. It was growing in the wide verge and I wanted to get the dandelion in full focus and the others behind out of focus.

Blossom and church tower.

Here is my 11th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I took this photo on 21st April whist the blossom was still on th trees. I wanted the shot of the blossom, but also wanted a background to the photo, hence the church tower, and the bokeh from the free behind

Wild Periwinkles.

Here is my 9th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

I spotted these Periwinkles growing at the roadside on my walk to work (the road between between Watergates and Saltbox Farm. I kept the main flower in sharp focus and applied a texture layer in photohop to make the rest look a little more artistic.

Fancy light switches at Colerne Church.

Here is my 8th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

This is one of the first photos I took with the Sony A7Riii. I went to the church to take a few photos and the light switch immediately caught my eye. The first shot of the light switch was much more square on, it was only when I got back to my PC that I really noticed how good the window looked behind. So I went back and took the photo again, this time from an angle that showed a lot more of the window.

Easter window display - Vicarage Lane

Here is my 7th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

Not a technically difficult photo, other than a little bit of reflection, more of a snap shot. However I really liked the Easter scene and the effort that had gone into it, so though it was more than worthy of a place in my project, especially on Easter Sunday. Thank you to Mr & Mrs Laws for allowing me to take the photo.

The roof of old well at Watergates.

Here is my 6th of 314 photos for the one mile project.

This time it's back to the old well at Watergates, looking straight up at the inside of the roof. I shot it off center to get in more of the pattern, and to exclude the sign from the photo (thats for another day).
